Frontier Towers signs Memorandum of Agreement with Ateneo de Zamboanga

University to further support Jesuit Education in the Philippines

Partnership between Frontier Towers and AdZU to enhance the mission of Jesuit education and

support the development of Mindanao region and the Philippines as a whole.

Frontier Towers and Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Philippines – November 14, 2022

Frontier Tower Associates Philippines Inc. (“Frontier”), an Asia-focused digital infrastructure platform that invests in, builds, and operates telecom infrastructure with a focus on towers and related assets, and Ateneo De Zamboanga University (“AdZU”), a Jesuit institution of higher education established in 1912 and the 2nd oldest Jesuit University in the Philippines, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement for a partnership that will support the mission of Jesuit education in Mindanao.

Mission of AdZU

AdZU is a core institution dedicated to educating and forming students to be leaders who will

work for social transformation based on Filipino, Catholic, and Jesuit values, culture, and

tradition, and who will dedicate themselves in the service of God and country (pro Deo et

patria).

This mission extends not only to Zamboanga City but to the six provinces of Zamboanga peninsula and the Western Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, addressing needs in instruction, research, and community development; and engaging in the following areas: health, environment, peace, intercultural dialogue, leadership, governance, and the common good.

Frontier – AdZU Partnership

In support of its mission, Frontier has partnered with AdZU to enhance social inclusion and

community development in Mindanao and the Philippines through pledged commitments,

donations, scholarships, and contributions of time and expertise. These activities will help

advance the university’s funds, programs, human resources, infrastructure, technology, branding, master planning, and other strategic concerns, which will, in turn achieve the Jesuit education mission and overall, foster sustainable development in Mindanao.

Moreover, through this partnership, Frontier looks to play an increasingly vital role in developing the Mindanao region where it was founded and contribute to increasing economic, social and development of the Philippines as a whole.

Patrick Tangney, Chairman and CEO of Frontier, said, “We are incredibly excited to partner with

Ateneo de Zamboanga University and support the mission of Jesuit education in the Philippines, which is so central to inclusive economic and social development. This is only the first step, and we look to further extend our support through future initiatives in the region and beyond.”

Fr. Karel S. San Juan, S.J, President of Ateneo de Zamboanga, added, “The initiative of Frontier in supporting the Jesuit mission is great news and an opportunity for enhancing our vision of social engagement and community outreach while educating and forming students to be leaders. We look forward to continuing to help expand the Jesuit impact on the society.”
